Dr. Ronald van Kesteren
Dr. Ronald van Kesteren is Associate Professor at the VU University Amsterdam.
Ronald studied Biology at the University of Leiden, The Netherlands, and did a PhD in the department of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology, VU University Amsterdam. After a postdoctoral training at the University of Calgary, he returned to the VU University, where he now heads the Genes and Plasticity research team at the center for Neurogenomics and Cognitive Research.
Ronald van Kesteren participates in several national and international research consortia, and was previously awarded with fellowships from the Netherlands Organization of Scientific Research (NWO) and the Royal Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
Ronald’s research currently focuses on molecular and cellular mechanisms of neuronal development, neuronal injury and repair, and age-related neurodegeneration.
