Dr. Rhiannon Meredith
Dr. Rhiannon Meredith is Assistant Professor in the department of Integrative Neurophysiology in the CNCR at VU University Amsterdam.
She studied Physiological Sciences at Oxford University, UK and did her PhD in behavioural neuroscience at the BBSRC Babraham Institute and the Department of Zoology, Cambridge UK. After a teaching position and postdoc in the group of Ole Paulsen (Oxford, UK) she moved to the VU University at the end of 2004 for a postdoc in the group of Huib Mansvelder. Since the end of 2008, she started her own ‘Synaptic imaging and plasticity’ group at the VU (www.rhisearch.com). Their current research focuses on development and plasticity of synaptic transmission in both individual neurons and neuronal networks, using electrophysiology and multi-photon calcium imaging.
Research projects in the team are funded by Hersenstichting NL, NWO/ZonMW and EU FP7 programme.
